We save lives, and we lessen suffering.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) provide basic life support and respond to all emergency and non-emergency medical assistance calls and transportation requests.

Lake Chelan Valley Emergency Medical Technician’s (LCVEMT) are individuals who either enrolled in a 120 hour community sponsored program or a college-based program to get their Washington State Medical Technicians Certification. Most are individuals who found they wanted to do something extra to support their community and Lake Chelan Valley Emergency Medical Services was a great way to be involved.

Still, there were those who decided to pursue it as a career. LCVEMT’s make up the majority of our personnel and are a huge asset to our community and EMS agency. Most have full time jobs outside EMS and are required to maintain approximately 24 hours of continuing medical education annually.  EMT’s are certified in the following practices for both Adult and Pediatric patients:

  • Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
  • Some are trained in Peripheral IV therapy
  • Provide and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS)
